A Year in Review - Our Accomplishments for 2020:
This year was a trying year for this country and the world due to the COVID-19 virus, so we had to make adjustments to our operation
We have 70 members
17 new members joined UBGA in 2020
Our membership reaches across the following locations: NYC, NJ, MO, NV, VA, CT
Held our Sixth Annual Scholarship Golf Classic at Harbor Links Golf Course, Port Washington NY
From 2016 to 2020, we awarded 36 scholarships to students, with the total cash disbursement of $24,800.00 to date
Awarded six (6) $800.00 scholarships to the winners of our scholarship program, totaling $4,800.00 for 2020
Established a $6,400 scholarship fund for 8 students at $800.00 each to be awarded in 2021
Played golf at the following courses: Wind Watch, North Woodmere, Peninsula, Darlington NJ, Harbor Links, Harbor Links Exec Course, Kissena, Douglaston, Marine Park, Dyker Beach, Forest Park, Clearview, Bergen Point, Van Courtland Park, Middle Bay, & Mill Pond G C (15 courses)
Played 24 rounds of golf this season
Held six (6) free golf clinics for our members and the community
Sixty (60) golfers played with us this season
Designed a new website that was launched in 2020
Setup our annual weekend golf trip to Ocean City Maryland for 2021 (Pending the virus status)
Had a Zoom interview with the BBC World Sport News about Blacks in golf
Had a Zoom podcast interview with the ALL MEN ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL, about Golfing While Black
African American Golfers Digest, published a story about the podcast we did about Golfing While Black
Revised and modified our Bylaws
