UBGA's 2024 -Year In Review

Our annual Black History trip took place on 2/26/2024-3/1/2024. 16 golfers went to Puerto Rico where we stayed at The Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico Golf and Beach Resort and played 3 rounds golf at their Ocean and River golf courses
We officially kicked off the golf season in April with our Golf Academy every first Saturday of the month.
Our annual Juneteenth golf trip took place on 6/20-23/2024 in Atlantic City NJ, with 12 golfers. We played three rounds of golf at the following golf courses: Blue Heron Pines, Twisted Dunes & Harbor Pines
We continued to support rising star, Ariel Collins, a 14-year-old junior golfer from Georgia, with a donation of $2,000.00
We played in the following states/locations: NY, NJ, PR
We played over 40 rounds of golf in 2024
We played golf on (20) Golf Courses:

Our President, was the guest speaker at the Reville Club Organization on 4/3/2024, in Harlem
On 4/25/2024, our President was interviewed by Romuald Gadegbeku, from the Le Temps newspaper in Switzerland. The article was titled “Golf Renaissance”  which discussed inclusion of Black people in and off golf course facilities, (e.g. Top Golf and X-Golf)
UBGA representatives spoke at Martin Van Buren H.S. Career Day, in Queens NY.
Our 10th Anniversary Scholarship Golf Classic, was held on July 29th at Harbor Links Golf Course.  Since 2016, we have distributed $52,600 to 68 students.
On 9/3/2024, Brian Lawerence, VP of Marketing interviewed Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors for the African American Golfer's Digest. It was published in their 9/24/2024 issue.
UBGA hosted our free holiday party for our members and their guests on December 12th at Thomasina’s Catering Inc, located in St. Albans NY
UBGA donated 300 gift bags, (with a value of $1500) to the Holiday Inn Men’s Shelter, located at 1547 Brookville Blvd, Rosedale NY
The Healthy Living You Magazine, published an article about UBGA (12/2024)
By the end of 2024 our membership stands at 84 members with membership in the following states: NY, FL, MO, DE, VA, NJ, MD, NC, CA, TN, MA and in Ghana West Africa
Our 2025 Black History trip to Orlando Florida is scheduled from 2/24/2025-3/1/2025 with 12 golfers, staying at Embassy Suites, in Kissimmee FL. We will be playing the following courses: Forest Lake Golf Club, Disney’s Palm Golf Course & Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. We will also be attending a basketball game at the Kia Center, Magic Vs Cavaliers.
Our Golf Classic for 2025, will be held at the North Shore Towers, Golf & Country Club on Monday 7/28/2025
